Fishing on the River Teifi

Fishing on the TeifiYou may wonder why there is a 'fishing' page on a hotel website. Well, the river Teifi, which runs through Newcastle Emlyn is renowned as an excellent river for salmon and sea trout (sewin) fishing and we get many people visiting the area to enjoy their favourite pastime.

The season for fishing on the river Teifi starts on April 1st and ends on October 17th, and a permit is required.

  • The best methods to fish the river are fly, spinning and worm. The level of the river determines which method to use.
  • The best runs of salmon are between May and October.
  • The best runs of sea trout are between May and August.
